Comments

Tasks and notes carry a comment thread. It’s for the small back-and-forth that decides a piece of work — “do you want these in the same colour?”, “client says ship without the map” — kept against the thing it’s about, so it’s still there in three weeks when you’re wondering why.

Where the thread lives

  • On a task — open the task card in any list; the thread is below the subtasks. The full task page (from search, a notification, or a calendar link) shows the same thread.
  • On a note — at the bottom of the note.

A task row shows a small 💬 count when it has a conversation, so you can see there’s history without opening anything.

Writing, editing, deleting

Type and send. You can edit your own comments afterwards — an edited comment is marked as such, because a thread that quietly changes underneath a reply is worse than one that admits it changed.

You can delete your own comments; the workspace’s owner or admin can delete any of them.

Who gets notified

When you comment, TinyHub notifies:

  • the person the work belongs to — a task’s assignee, or its creator if nobody’s assigned; a note’s author; and
  • everyone already in the thread, so a reply reaches whoever asked the question.

It never notifies you about your own comment, and it never notifies someone who has since been removed from the workspace.

That’s the whole rule. It means the useful reflex is to reply in the thread rather than start a new one somewhere else — replying is what tells the right people.

Private tasks and notes

A task or note marked private is visible only to the person it belongs to. Its comment thread follows the same rule: nobody else can read it — including owners and admins. A private thread therefore has one legitimate participant, and TinyHub sends no notifications for it.

Comments and the client

Everyone in the workspace can read its comments, and that often includes the client’s own staff. There is no internal-only comment. If a note is genuinely just for you, mark the task or note private, or keep it in your own workspace.
